MESSI WINS ANOTHER "INCREDIBLE" AWARD
Lionel Messi has received his La Liga MVP award for 2017/18 season today.
Javier Tebas, President of La Liga, presented the award to Messi for being the best player in Spanish top division last season.
2017/18 was yet another fruitful season for the 31-year-old Argentinian, who scored 45 goals and made 18 assists in 54 appearances across all competitions.
In La Liga last season, Messi scored 34 and made 12 of them.
His massive contribution helped Barcelona win the La Liga and Copa del Rey titles last term as well.
Speaking at the ceremony, which is organized by
Mundo Deportivo starting from this year, Messi says: "It is my pleasure to be here and it's a very nice recognition for what it means because of the importance of the league."
"It is a very equal league from the bottom to the top, each team is seperated by very few points. We will follow our dynamics and get victories to get more points so as to become champions."
"(As for Copa del Rey,) It's going to be hard. Sevilla - with very good players - have a 2-0 advantage over us, so we'll need the best form from us and the best players from us, because we want to go through."
