CHELSEA CAPTAIN HIT OUT AT MAURICIO SARRI AT TRAINING GROUNDS

It’s claimed that Azpilicueta was involved in a ‘heated meeting’ with Sarri on Monday and the defender was supported by Willian, with both players offering a response to the Chelsea manager’s decision to publicly slam their teammates.

Azpilicueta is in his seventh season at Stamford Bridge and has captained the team for the majority of the campaign with Gary Cahill failing to win a place in the team.

It’s reported that Sarri was impressed with Azpilicueta’s ‘forthrightness’ and desire to stick up for other members of the Chelsea squad.

Chelsea’s players delivered the perfect response to Sarri’s criticism on Thursday evening as they beat Tottenham to secure a place in next month’s Carabao Cup final against Manchester City.

Sarri’s side are next in action on Sunday when they face Sheffield Wednesday in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
