MESSI TOUGHER THAN RONALDO - ASLEY COLE

Ashley Cole appeared on Monday Night Football as a pundit as West Ham held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw.
Cole, alongside Jamie Carragher, watched on as Jurgen Klopp’s side dropped another two points to throw the Premier League title race wide open.
After the match, the attention turned to Cole - who recently signed for Frank Lampard’s Derby County.
The left-back had to answer a few questions from Twitter users.

One of those questions concerned a certain Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The fan asked which player was tougher to play against: Messi or Ronaldo.
Cole’s answer?
"It has to be Messi,” he replied immediately.

“People talk about Ronaldo more because I played against him more.
“But I think to mark Messi, on his day... he was just too good for me.
“But, again, he’s never scored [against me].”
Interestingly, Ronaldo was asked the toughest defender he’s ever played against back in 2016.
And he named name-drop Ashley Cole

Cole won't have to come up with players of the quality of Messi or Ronaldo anymore as he looks to help Derby earn promotion to the Premier League.
