BARCELONA LEGEND XAVI HERNANDEZ HAS ASKED MESSI TO JOIN HIM AT AL SADD.

Barcelona legend Xavi is urging former Barcelona teammate and Captain Lionel Messi to join him and wind down his playing career in Qatar.

The former Barca captain is preparing to take charge of Al Sadd after hanging up his boots and "Okdiario's" chief pundit Eduardo Inda says the World Cup winner has spoken to Messi about joining him in the Middle East.

"Xavi Hernández has offered Messi that when he wants to leave Barça he has a place in Qatar," says Inda.

"When the 2022 World Cup is held, Messi will be about to retire, so it's not far-fetched."

Al Sadd already have Gabi on the books, with Xavi convincing the former Atletico Madrid captain to make the move last summer.
