IF HE WANTS TO LEAVE LET HIM GO - MARCO VERRATTI URGE PSG TO SELL NEYMAR IF HE WANTS TO LEAVE.
Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has urged the French champions to let star player Neymar leave the club if he want to. It is speculated that Neymar is looking for a way out of PSG, and his probable destination is his former side Barcelona who have been working within their powers to resign their former star who is also reported as the closest friend to their talisman and club captain Lionel Messi.
Verratti in 2017 was denied a move to the Catalan sidefor his part, with his agent claiming at the time that he was being held hostage by the Emir of Qatar.
“When a player really wants to be sold, the club should let them go, by mutual agreement with the conditions imposed by the club, of course,” he told RMC Sport.
“However, you can’t keep a player who wants to leave.”
Despite that, the Brazilian remains the club’s record signing and highest profile, with 51 goals in just 58 games.
“I’d certainly hate to see him leave,” admitted the 26-year-old.
“I’ve never heard him say that he wants to leave. I don’t know what he’s said to the club, but personally I’d prefer him to stay.”
Verratti sees a similar situation to the one he lived through two seasons ago when he was on the brink of a move from PSG to Barcelona. "In those moments, I needed answers from PSG. I didn't see a club that wanted to win the Champions League but after speaking with the club, I was satisfied," he said.
"Nobody forced me to stay but I think if a player want to go, he will always find a way to do it. When a player really wants to leave, the club has to leave him go. I agree with what the club are asking for the transfer, but you can't keep a player that wants to leave the club.
