FOR ME MESSI IS THE BEST OF ALL TIME AND I'D PREFER WATCHING HIM PLAY THAN RONALDO - FORMER INTER MILAN ATTACKER, RECOBA ON HIS OPINION OF WHO IS THE BEST AMONG THE TWO "GOATS".

Former Uruguay and Inter Milan attacker Recoba has voiced out his assertion on the ever-growing  debate over who is the best player between Barcelona and Argentina captain Lionel Messi and his arch rival and Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
The two have in total 10 world best player awards between them, with both having 5 each in the past 11 years.
On his opinion of the two greatest footballers of this modern age Recoba said;

"Messi has been at the top for 15 years," he told Perform.

"People can say that he hasn't moved from Barcelona. Yes, but his teammates have changed, and he's still there.

"For me, Messi is the best of all time," he added.
Recoba implied that, if the two had not been playing in the same period, it would not be up for debate as to who was the better individual.

"When it comes to Cristiano, if they had played in different eras, it would be a different story.
"But since they have played in the same era, it is normal for them to be compared," he explained.
"Now, if both are playing at the same time and I have to choose a game, I prefer to watch a Messi match."

Recoba made his Inter debut on the same day as
Ronaldo , on 31 August 1997, against Brescia at the
San Siro . He scored two goals in the last ten minutes of the match: one, a powerful 30-yard shot that flew past the keeper, the next, a free-kick into the top corner after a Cristiano Doni foul. The goals allowed Inter to come back and win the match 2–1.
