MADRID BASED NEWSPAPER REPORTS MESSI'S PANENKA FREE KICK GOAL AS AN OWN GOAL.

Lionel Messi scored two late goals to earn Barcelona a 2-0 win in Saturday's Catalan derby against Espanyol at Camp Nou.
Messi won and then chipped home a free kick from the edge of the box in the 71st minute to open the scoring in a game of few clear-cut chances.
The Argentine then added his second of the match -- and 41st of the season -- when he finished Malcom's cut-back two minutes from time.

But Madrid based newspaper Marca, awarded the Messi's first goal,  a Panenka free-kick goal as a Victor Sanchez own goal in their match report.

Here's what Marca wrote for Messi's free-kick:
"After being on the brunt end of a harsh takedown from Sanchez, Messi sculpted a free kick in which he effortlessly lofted a curling left-footed shot that Sanchez tried to clear off the goal-line.
"But with the soaring Diego Lopez coming into his periphery, the Espanyol man made a mess of it and the ball rippled the back of net for a 1-0 Barcelona lead."

Sanchez helped Messi's free-kick into the back of the net with his head, but it was on target and the diving goalkeeper was getting nowhere near it, so it certainly wasn't an own goal.
